Launch of New MediaSpan Blog

The news media industry is evolving at an accelerated pace. From the explosion of Facebook and Twitter to the release of iPad.  Staying ahead or even just keeping pace is a challenge.  Communication, and the sharing of thoughts and ideas, is critical to understanding the needs of our customers and partners. 

With the launch of the MediaSpan Blog we plan to share our thoughts, views, and outlook on the evolving world of news and media.

First, we hope to discuss a number of issues relating to our industry, especially those that matter to someone running a media business.  Our subject matter experts will be providing their insights on such hot topics as Software as a Service (SaaS), consolidation, multi-channel publishing, social media, and monetizing your content.  Just to name a few.

Second, we expect to address technology changes affecting our industry. There are a number of dynamic forces at play in our industry right now, and we look forward to sharing some of the internal discussions that we have when deciding how to approach certain critical customer issues.

And of course, we will discuss some of the new products and services that we have been working on. More importantly, how these new features can be leveraged by our customers in their day-to-day activities.

At MediaSpan, our customers' successes still come first, and like everyone in our industry, we are pretty busy. Please check back on a monthly basis to read our latest blog and see what’s new at MediaSpan.

Tom Henry
Vice President of Product Development

Mr. Henry is responsible for the product management, software development and strategic direction of all of the MediaSpan Software products and oversees a team of product managers, software engineers, quality assurance and documentation specialists in MediaSpan’s Ann Arbor and Melbourne facilities.
 
Tom joined MediaSpan in 2007, leading the Strategic Initiatives team.  In this role, Tom provided technical guidance on numerous internal and external development projects.  He has been responsible for providing the projects with overall technical direction, translating business objectives to technical objectives, communication to the engineering staff, managing technical engineers, and has extensive experience in several coding languages.
 
Mr. Henry has more than 20 years experience in software development and IT.  Prior to joining MediaSpan, Tom worked at a web development firm that specialized in e-commerce, working with a number of Fortune 500 customers (1800flowers, Brookstone, Kmart, Whirlpool) on the technical design, development and support of their sites and Content Management Systems.

Tom received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Information Systems.
