IQue

IQue, the industry's most popular editorial solution, takes advantage of the latest technology to minimize the steps your staff needs to take to get information to your readers, whether in print or online. IQue can be scaled for as few or as many workstations as your publication needs. And, because it runs on Windows 2000 or higher or Mac OS X, you can use hardware you already own. Unlimited fields allow for effective filing and finding of files, and make passing along information to the Web, your archive, and other formats fast and easy. Other features include remote administration, publication profiles (great for chains!), and zoning options.

Fields and workflow

IQue gets its power from its fields. When a file is created, the category info is filled in, either by a person or by default. IQue has an unlimited number of database fields that you can create and customize. Files also can be added remotely (and securely), via Transporter.

The server works on both Windows and Mac OS X.

Workflow stages allow for quick searches to find exactly what you need. For instance, a city editor can have an ongoing, automatically updated search for all stories that are "Filed." Copy editors can find "Ready for page" stories and paginators can find "Flowable" stories. Multi-tab search results reduce desktop clutter and each search retains its "view," as in "Sort by Last Modified" or "Author."

IQueWeb

IQueWeb allows you to harness the power of IQue, with the convenience of the Web.

These days, the "newsroom" can be everywhere. Through a browser, IQueWeb helps extend those boundaries to allow remote users to search, create, edit and relate content within the IQue server.

Versatile

IQue empowers multiple publications, even though they may share a server, to have individualized styles and workflows. Log-in parameters are dynamic and can be extremely specific. For the system could mandate that stringer who comes in to type up basketball scores automatically has every file assigned to "Agate."

In addition to stories, IQue also handles images and pages in your database and can search for those just as thoroughly. Pagination in IQue 5, using InDesign, can be on either the Windows or Mac OS X platform. Other versions of IQue work with QuarkXPress as well.

IQue supports a multitude of layout shapes and stores the "geometry" in the database. Each story can have multiple elements, yet not all elements have to be placed. The IQue Server runs on a MySQL database.

WireManagerIQue, Transporter, and ArchiveIQue round out the IQue Editorial System, creating an end-to-end editorial solution that guarantees that your publication can meet the needs of today’s dynamic news marketplace.
